What to expect when starting your journey with Revolve.
GENERAL
-
Street parking is available around the studio, more specifically on Ngaio Road and Parata Street. We are also located a short walk from Waikanae train station.
-
Yes, of course! However we don't have full-time reception staff so unfortunately we cannot always guarantee that we will be available to speak with you straight away if you do visit the studio without an appointment, as we may be with another client or teaching a class. You can leave your name and contact details at the front counter, or alternatively contact us via email and we will get back to you as soon as possible to answer any questions you may have and/or support you with booking an appointment if you wish.
-
We have space for your personal belongings next to the reformers (unlocked) and a bathroom available. Please note our facilities do not include a shower.
-
For safety reasons, children cannot remain in the Revolve studio whilst their parent/guardian participates in any of our Pilates services.
For physiotherapy appointments, please bring your children into the appointment with you. They cannot remain in the studio/waiting room without you.
PHYSIOTHERAPY
-
Typically, in your first appointment we will discuss your injury and how it happened, as well as any relevant medical and injury history. We then perform a thorough physical assessment to understand your injury and how your body moves, which then flows onto developing your individualised treatment plan.
If your injury was caused by an accident and you don't already have an active ACC claim, we can complete this process with you during your initial appointment too.
-
Both initial appointments and follow up appointments are 40 minutes.
-
Appointments usually involve manual therapy. In order to gain an accurate assessment and receive appropriate treatment, we ask that you please wear loose and comfortable clothing. Depending on the treatment required, the physiotherapist may require you to remove a layer of clothing. You can also bring a pair of shorts and t-shirt/singlet to change in to, if required.
If you have any documentation or scans related to your injury, please bring this along to your first appointment.
If you already have an ACC number please bring that with you. Otherwise, we can contact ACC for you to obtain that information.
-
No referral is required. You can go ahead and book an appointment straight in with us. You can see your GP prior to booking an appointment if you wish. We can also refer you back to your GP for further care if required.
-
At time of booking your appointment through the online booking system, you will receive an email outlining your appointment time and a link where you can cancel (and re-book) as required. Alternatively, you can cancel and/or re-schedule your appointment by calling us on 04 298 1222 or emailing us at hello@revolvephysiopilates.co.nz. It is important to receive confirmation from us that we have received your cancellation request if doing so via email. Our cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment will incur a $25 cancellation fee.
-
Yes, Revolve Physiotherapy & Pilates is an ACC accredited service. As such, we are an approved supplier of physiotherapy treatments to ACC clients.
-
As we are ACC accredited, we can generate an ACC claim for you if your injury was caused by an accident. If you are unsure, you can contact us to discuss further.
-
Yes you can, as long as this is still a valid claim.
-
ACC contributes towards your treatment fee, however there is also a co-payment that you will need to make to cover the full cost of the treatment. The co-payment costs are outlined on our 'pricing' page on our website.
-
No, physiotherapists cannot prescribe pain relief or write medical certificates for work/study requirements. You will need to see your doctor if you require either of these.
REFORMER PILATES & CLINICAL PILATES
-
Clinical Pilates is specifically tailored to address specific injuries, aches & pains, injury prevention and post-surgery recovery. Clinical Pilates requires an initial assessment by our physiotherapist before commencing your first class. In addition to the use of the Reformer machines, other equipment and props may also be incorporated such as resistance bands, dumbbells, gym equipment and foam rollers, depending on your rehabilitation needs.
Reformer Pilates is a generalised fitness class structured around a series of exercises designed to work different muscle groups, with varying levels of difficulty. Reformer Pilates aims to enhance body awareness, posture, strength and balance, often with a more general approach to fitness. Exercises are prescribed to the whole group and although modifications can be made, they are not as individual in nature like that of Clinical Pilates.
-
A Clinical Pilates Initial Assessment with our physiotherapist is required prior to attending a Clinical Pilates class. This helps us to understand your medical/care history and complete an assessment on your movement patterns to then be able to prescribe the right exercises for you in class relevant to your needs and goals.
The 'Clinical Pilates Initial Appointment' can be booked through our website, or by contacting us directly.
If you are interested in Clinical Pilates and are already seeing the physiotherapist at Revolve, please ask him for more information. Booking a 'Clinical Pilates Initial Appointment' is not required in this instance.
We offer different Class Pack options for Clinical Pilates, these include One, Five and Ten pack options. You can view our class schedule and book classes all on our online booking system. Class Packs are paid for at the studio on the day of your first scheduled class (for example if you sign-up for a Five Class Pack, you will pay for the full cost of this Class Pack at the time of your first class at Revolve).
-
You can view our reformer Pilates class schedule, purchase Class Packs, and book in classes all via our online booking system - StudioBookings. You will first need to create an account with StudioBookings, which you can do so via the 'Book now' button on our website.
Our current Class Pack options include 'One Pack', Five Pack,' 'Ten Pack' and ‘20 Pack’. Once these packs have been purchased online, you can now book into our classes.
Any Intro Offers or other specials we may offer from time to time, can also be purchased via this means.
You can keep an eye on how many class credits you have remaining via your StudioBookings account. There is also a StudioBookings app available should you prefer to manage your class bookings this way.
If you experience any challenges with the online booking system, we are more than happy to help so please contact us via email on hello@revolvephysiopilates.co.nz or by calling us on 04 298 1222.
-
As a boutique studio, we keep our classes small and intimate, with a maximum of 4 people in a Reformer Pilates class and a Clinical Pilates class at one time.
-
Yes of course, we have waitlist options available for our Pilates services.
For Clinical Pilates, you can join the waitlist online via the booking system. Should a spot become available, we will make contact with you via phone call and/or email to see if you would like to take the spot. If you no longer wish to be on the waitlist for a class, please remove yourself from the waitlist to free up this space for someone else. Once you have been removed from the waitlist and added to a class, our class cancellation guidelines will apply.
For Reformer Pilates classes you can join the waitlist via the online booking system. If a spot becomes available, the booking system will place you immediately into the class and send you an email to advise that you are now in the class. Please ensure you are prepared to attend the class should you choose to join a waitlist, otherwise you can remove yourself from the waitlist if it no longer works for you. Should you join the waitlist and a spot does not become available, the class credit will be returned to your account.
-
For both Clinical Pilates and general Reformer Pilates classes, please arrive 10 minutes prior to your very first class so that we can show you around the studio and acquaint you with the equipment. Returning members can arrive 5 minutes prior.
If you are a few minutes late that’s okay, however we may not be able to allow you to join the class if it’s been running for ten minutes or longer. This is because you will miss the crucial warm up and will cause interruption to the other class attendees.
-
We totally understand that things can happen and plans can change. As our class sizes are so small, we hope you can appreciate the importance of meeting our cancellation policy.
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to cancel your Clinical Pilates class.
A minimum of 12 hours notice is required to cancel your Reformer Pilates class.
This will give us the opportunity to fill your spot with someone else who is interested, or with someone from the waitlist if the class was at capacity.Unfortunately, failure to cancel within those timeframes will result in you being charged the full class fee or forfeiting the class from your pre-purchased class pack. This also applies for any 'no-shows'.
If you have exceptional circumstances for requiring a late cancellation, please call or email us at the earliest opportunity.
-
No this is not possible. The classes can only be attended by the person whose account the class was booked on. If someone you know would like to attend a class, they will need to do their own booking individually.
-
We recommend wearing comfortable exercise attire in which you can move freely. Change rooms are not available, there is a toilet/bathroom.
Wearing grippy socks is mandatory for hygiene and safety reasons (as they can provide more stability on the reformer machine). If you don’t have grippy socks, you can purchase a pair in studio for $20.
Where possible please only bring with you what you need. We do have areas where you can keep your personal belongings during your class, however secured lockers are not available.
-
Firstly, congratulations!
We do not offer pre-natal or post-natal specific reformer Pilates classes at Revolve. You are welcome to attend our reformer ‘Foundation’ group classes throughout your first trimester, provided you are experiencing a low-risk pregnancy, have clearance from your doctor or lead maternity carer, and complete the class at your own capacity - taking breaks and resting when you need. Please enquire with us prior to booking if you are pregnant by contacting us on hello@revolvephysiopilates.co.nz
Our Clinical Pilates classes are available to women at all stages of their pregnancy, following an Initial Assessment with our Physiotherapist and clearance from their lead maternity carer or physician, to ensure the class is suitable and tailored to your individual needs.
-
Yes you are welcome to join our Pilates classes once you feel ready following your 6-8 week checkup. We do require you to obtain medical clearance from your lead maternity carer prior to booking and attending classes. We ask that you please let us know of your post-natal status prior to your class so that we can offer modifications accordingly.
